The spaces of the historic Ducrot workshops, inside the Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa, return to being a place of production thanks to the artisan and technological workshops: it is here that in the early 1900s the work of the high workers and professionalism related to craftsmanship was requested from all over Italy for the creation of lines of Art Nouveau furniture and furnishings based on designs by Ernesto Basile.
Today NOZ is a place of work, training, promotion and experimentation at the same time, a hub for local development and environmental sustainability. This is where courses for professionalization and the enhancement of traditional skills are based, with particular attention to intercultural dialogue and the exchange of knowledge.
The spaces of the Nuove Officine Zisa are places of professional skills and traditions. NOZ is home for those who have knowledge to share with other pieces of the community. Nature and craftsmanship, design and electrical engineering, prototyping and cooking: those who choose NOZ as a workspace can count on the modern equipment available in the laboratory classrooms, and experiment with new techniques, co-design and co-produce new artifacts together with other craftsmen . A mixture of people and professionals capable of generating completely new communities of interests and practices.
